HOW TO MAKE IT IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY – TEENSTAR 2014 CHAMPION ANNOUNCED

Emily Middlemas announced as TeenStar Champion 2014!

How to make it in the music industry: Emily Middlemas has been crowned as the champion of the national singing competition TeenStar 2014!
The TeenStar 2014 Grand Final took place at The NEC in Birmingham on Saturday 19th July. The grand finalists performed in front of a massive crowd and a prestigious music industry judging panel, all competing for the title of “TeenStar Champion 2014”, which has now been announced as Emily Middlemas from Glasgow. Impressing the industry judges with her original song “Goodnight Kiss,” Emily Middlemas has clearly demonstrated how to make it in the music industry.

Emily Middlemas has now won:

  • £5,000 to spend on the development of her music.
  • A comprehensive consultation package which focuses on social marketing, image and branding with Future Music.
  • A winner’s extensive publicity package

MUSIC INDUSTRY JUDGES

The judging panel for the Grand Final included:

  • Four time Ivor Novello award winner and one half of the successful garage duo Artful Dodger Mark Hill.
  • CeCe Sammy – a TV personality and celebrity vocal coach who has worked with the likes of Diana Ross, Will Young, Simon Cowell and Leona Lewis.
  • Sony Music talent scout James Dillamore.
  • A&R for Universal Music James Meadows.
  • Jayne Collins an A&R consultant for major record companies, who has put together and managed The Saturdays and The Wanted.
  • Director of River Studios and producer of Open Mic UK winner’s Birdy’s platinum album Gareth Henderson.
  • Journalist of TeenStar partner Shout Magazine Claire McDonald.
  • Head of Future Music Chris Grayston.

TEENSTAR 2014 CHAMPION

Emily Middlemas has been crowned overall TeenStar champion from the three age category winners the judging panel chose. Jake Mckechnie from Wigan, Manchester won the Pre-Teen age category, and Victoria Bass from Folkestone, Kent took home the title for the Late-Teen age category.

However Emily Middlemas has proved how to make it in the music industry, being crowned the overall TeenStar champion. Check out her winning performance here:
