Yorkshire Dance Contest: Industry judges have provided feedback for the acts competiting in the TeenStar North East Area Final dance contest. The industry judges have provided singing and dance contest feedback on how acts can be successful in developing their performances.

Ashton Winstanley - Excellent bodywork, however your footwork was a little messy in places and the floor work needs more practise. Cheeky chappy though. Great opening to the show. Interact with the audience more if you can.
Sophie Bulmer - Your voice is much more powerful when you moved the mic off the stand, click here for tips on microphone technique for singers. Nice voice, but you seemed a bit shy and nervous, click here for tips on building stage confidence as a singer.
Libby Latimer - Dancing was stronger than the singing. Very confident which was great to see, but the dancing did make you out of breath, which did then impact your singing. However it was enjoyable performance.
Abbie Riley - Good varied routine. Noisy landing and not as supple as you could be. Great attitude when performing. Routine was neat. Good work.
Abbi Watkinson - You have such a powerful vocal and you project it so well, but try not to make it too nasal. Great song choice, but it was better when you came away from the mic stand, so be sure to use that stage.
Katie Atkinson - Great song choice. Good eye contact although you did seem a little nervous, click here for tips on building stage confidence as a singer. Image wasn’t completely right for her age, so have a think about that for future performances.
Ellen Erskine - Great performance on the Sam Smith track. Lovely story telling within your performance.
Brooke Burke - Lovely powerful voice, but you seemed very nervous, click here for tips on building stage confidence as a singer. Lots of hand movements, but you appeared to be counting time inside your head, so try not and show that to your audience.
Phoebe Dalton - Good eye contact, and nice smile at the start. You seemed very nervous and a little bit quiet. Nerves can make you go out of tune so be careful and click here for tips on building stage confidence as a singer. You shouldn’t be nervous, be confident in yourself and just go for it!
Claudia Bennett - Left me wanting more, a great performance, well done.
Grace Rogers - Good powerful voice, and a big song choice but it suited you. Just work on the control a bit more.
Charlie - Image felt a little too old for you unfortunately. A little bit shouty in places and strained to reach notes. A good vocal coach will be able to help you to be even better, click here for for tips on singing teachers and finding the right singing teacher.
Connie Fisher - Good interpretation of the words. Beautiful performance. Technique and footwork was very good.
Twinkle - Good presentation, nice harmonies and great attitude. You may eventually grow out of the band name, so have a think about that.

Ethan Cross - Nice voice and you looked great! Try to perform to and interact with the audience a little more, click here for tips on stage performance tips for singers.
Finlay Holmes - Strong body movements. A powerful routine, well done.
Katie Louise - Some tuning issues, lost her place but recovered well. A good vocal coach will be able to help you to be even better, click here for for tips on singing teachers and finding the right singing teacher.
S.O Reps - Nice lively dance troupe. Not the most original piece but you looked great and they all looked like they enjoyed themselves, which was great!
Ellie Ferguson - Nice voice but it was little bit nasally, so be careful with that. Nice and smiley which was missing from so many. Just work on your stage presence, click here for tips on stage performance tips for singers.
Excel Juniors - Good support but not the most original piece. You enjoyed it so it made us enjoy it. Good upbeat song, lots of energy from you all.
Teah - Pretty voice, nice image, and nice to see someone playing their own music, well done.
Hollie Jayne Creighton - Unfortunately you closed for much of the performance, so try and open them and have more confidence in yourself. A dramatic performance which captured the audience and judges.
Rebecca Atkinson - Good eye contact, pretty angelic voice. Great stage movement, click here for more tips on stage performance tips for singers.
WYSPA - Lots of smiley faces. Different abilities and a little bit out of time in places. Great costumes though!
Scandalous Didi Pro - Awesome act! Full of energy, great audience reaction. Ones to watch!

Elisha Lang - Great potential to do well in the business, but don’t let the dancing take away from your awesome vocals.
Lisa - Graceful and elegantly danced, loved the routine. You came across very well with audience, great stage presence.
Jay Casey - Great stage presence, and bags of potential. You owned the stage but you could also use more of it.
Sasha and David - Potentially a little overdressed, and the dancing didn’t work too well unfortunately (not helped by the big dress). Great stage presence and the vocals and rap were cool., just think about your image going forward.
Charlotte and Ciara Duet - Good choreography and overall a good performance. The routine could have been more slicker though, especially when a duet your timing has to be perfect.

Conor Goldby - Great effort. You could benefit by teaming up with others as you would work well in a boyband. Good eye contact, nice and smiley and great stage presence.
Duplex - An amazing performance! It was like watching a West End show. So lively and fantastically entertaining. Well done!
Little Voice Big Stars - Great performance, loved the solos, it gave a whole new feel to the songs. Would have liked it to be a bit more cheerful, so was glad it livened up.
Rosie Allenby - You have such raw talent! Be more confident in yourself and shake off those nerves to show people how talented you are. Great song choice and lovely to see a ukulele. A very enjoyable performance, well done.
Chloe and Callum - Totally unique , the routine was so sick and neat. Loved the ninja costumes. Great job. Chloe just take care not to look at the floor too much.
Alexandra Sorley - Great voice, however you did struggle with big notes, so maybe the song was a little too big for you, click here for more on the importance of song choice. Lots of potential, but try to connect with audience more.
Excel Teens - Great routine, it was so energetic. Would like to see more attitude and fierceness in the faces though.

Claudia and Jaycee - Beautiful story telling within your performance you gave us goosebumps. A lot of potential, but not 100% sold on the outfit choices.
Hollie Robinson - Pure talent! We believed everything in your song, you're definitely one to watch!
Seven Performance Company - Amazing routine but your timing needs work. Some members seemed to be marking it through rather than dancing their hearts out, so work to be tighter as a group.
Eliza MacKenzie - Such a powerful voice. Amazing performance, well done!
Maddie Ogle - Great energy to your performance. It could have been slicker in places, but you pulled it off. Well done.

WYSPA - Start was a little too slow and static and the subject was a little sad for a competition environment, however it was still enjoyable performance.

Pink Americano - Would have liked at least one solo to get some individuality. Overall good, but need more harmonies and movement.
Alana Ward - Loved the routine but there was a little too much floor work. The costume great and you have bags of stage presence, just work on your routine more.

Harrison Hartley - The song really suited your voice, good job. Lots of potential, but you needed to be in front of the mic stand for dance section.
Jessica Nash- Great range and stage presence, however not sure it was the best song choice for you, so click here for more on the importance of song choice.
Carli Trotter - Awesome original song. Love the raspiness to the voice. A little bit too low perhaps at times, but a good performance.
Katy Smith - Great message within your performance. Awesome routine and the music fit really well to. Great job, well done.
Lydia Millburn - One word – wow! Such a powerful performance. You have such a massive voice!
Ebony-May - Great range, lots of potential. Brave song choice. The ending was a little weak compared to rest of performance, so just try and give as much energy throughout the whole performance.

Kyle Rawson - A very soulful and emotional performance. Lovely song, but work on diction so we can clearly hear every word.

Excel Dance - Great Choreography. Loved the use of lights. Nice routine, well done!
Jenna Darrel - Nice voice, good song choice, it suited you well. Good use of stage. A lovely performance to end the show.
