Singing Technique - Camden Feedback

Arya – Impressive first impression, lovely smile and confident stage presence. Just take care not to play with your hair too much as that is distracting. A very graceful and classy performance to start the show, well done.

Jessy – Take care with your tuning in places and make sure you don’t force the song too early, sometimes holding back can give more impact, click here for tips on vocal ranges. More dynamics will maintain the interest throughout rather than being too repetitive. Performance wise ensure you are using the stage more, click here for tips on how to work the singing stage.

Olivia Swinton – Loved the song choice and you had a cool, relaxed vibe! Liked your styling and image too. A very prepared performance, well done.

Teodora – It’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Also make sure you are on point with your mic control as you were losing quite a bit of impact with your projection. Click here for tips on microphone techniques for singers.

Abby Murphy – Good styling in velvet blue and you worked the stage well. You had the right idea to work the stage and bring dynamics to the performance, just make sure you get bang on point and don’t climb into the big notes too soon or suddenly, click here for tips on vocal ranges.

Amara H – A strong performance, however just take care with your pitch as it was off in places because you were nervous. The more you perform the more your performance confidence will improve and you will get used to dealing with the emotions. Click here for tips on how to sing with confidence. Make sure you get your mouth as close the mic as you can otherwise you will loose projection. Click here for tips on microphone techniques for singers.

Amara N – Great to see you playing the keys, but the playing was a little simplistic and you had to look down quite a bit which suggests you aren’t quite ready as you can't engage with your audience through eye contact. So perhaps more performances and practice will help you develop those skills, click here for tips on engaging the audience

Eona – Great song choice, but would have looked to have changed your performance up when the beat kicked in as your performance was a little repetitive and would have backed up your vocal. Commit more as you have bundles of talent!

Sinead Barton – Nice vocal, but start to think about bringing a performance and image to back it up. Click here for advice on performing as a singer. Start believing in yourself and start to work hard to bring in these elements to your act. Click here for tips on how to work the singing stage.

Harvey Rafferty – Good punchy vocal, look to tidy up the guitar work to give it more backing. Showed a committed performance which showed passion and emotion.

Joules – Like to see you using the stage more. You are moving, but you need to advance the swaying. Click here for tips on how to work the singing stage. Good use of your vocals to really climb into the high notes, but maybe need to scat around and vary the verses more to maintain the interest throughout the performance. Click here for tips on vocal ranges

Charlotte Manning – Liked your expression, you told the story well in your eyes and face. You rolled well with the audience reactions with a perfectly timed smile too. A very professional performance, well done.

Bailey Cameron – You have such a unique tone. However we would have liked to have seen a more committed performance. Felt you held back and only at the end did you let loose. Need to give a strong first impression and maintain and climb from there. Click here for advice on performing as a singer

Technique for Singers - Camden Feedback

The Arias – Great to see you playing the keys, but the playing was a little simplistic and you had to look down quite a bit which suggests you aren’t quite ready as you can't engage with your audience through eye contact. So perhaps more performances and practice will help you develop those skills, click here for tips on engaging the audience. This didn’t help the performance flow as it could have! As a group you needed a more polished performance and really layer up the harmonies. You have the potential but you need to practice more and look to go up a level! Click here for tips for singing groups.

Summer Paris – Loved your styling! Vocally watch your breathing and maybe worth looking to work on that with a vocal coach to get it spot on! Also click here for tips on microphone techniques for singers as it would be good to tidy that up too.

Hatty – The song had some good potential, but it maybe needs a bit more development as it appeared to loop too easily. So look to vary and add some different melody hooks.

Josie – It’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it.

Lucie – Vocally you were good, however what it lacked was a performance and the emotion conveyed, look to develop that to back up your super vocal. Click here for advice on performing as a singer

Mitchell – Felt like you needed to vary the tempo around and play around with the song at times, as it felt the pace was too slow. Also maybe consider standing when you perform to allow you to perform more. Click here for tips on vocal ranges

Morgan Metson – What a big song to sing and you lifted the roof with your vocal. Great raspy vocal, just watch your control when starting to climb up the gears. Great performance! Maybe consider some artistic dancers visually in the back for a song like this.

Jorja Rutherford – Loved that you made the cover your own, you have a quirky tone which gave an unique sound. This performance showed us a lot more of your destination as an artist, well done.

Amber Atkinson – It’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it.

Blessing – Good stage presence and use of the stage, but it’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it.

Scarlet – Good to hear a different cover, the more creative you can make it the better, click here for advice on songs to cover. Loved your styling! Also click here for tips on microphone techniques for singers as it would be good to tidy that up too.

Dia – Nice rasp to your vocal tone and you used it to good effect with the tail end of some lyrical ends. Watch your microphone technique, get your mouth tight to the microphone click here for more tips microphone techniques for singers. Look to work around that chorus perhaps play around with the dynamics to allow the chorus to scene.

Chloe Ragrag – Song is nice and catchy, try to reach out more with your expression to convey the emotion even more in the song. Good dynamics with your vocal and you lead into the chorus nicely.

Ellie Grant – A beaming smile and great stage presence. Remember to get that microphone to your mouth before you start singing and generally tidy up that microphone technique, click here for more tips microphone techniques for singers. Performance and expression totally on point, so well done!

Shalamar B – You have a booming vocal, the only trouble isit’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it. Also click here for when to and when not to ask for audience response and participation.

Megan Copsey – Think about committing to the performance more, taking the mic off the stand and working the stage. Click here for advice on performing as a singer. Also think about picking a song choice a little more modern, unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it and show us who you are as an artist, click here for advice on songs to cover.
