Ellie Milan - You settled into the performance, with some nice high range control, plus dynamic shaping to phrases. Scope for further vocal security and pitch exactness, plus try to make the most of the stage.
Leanne Bark - Liked the vocal, you conveyed emotion and painted the lyrics with expression. Scope for more eye contact – don't forget to communicate with the audience more fully. Watch image also, click here for music synergy and image.
Two Tones - Nice blending, interesting acoustic interpretation of the chosen tracks. There is potential to develop the act, and the unison parts were well prepared. Have a think about what the non-guitarist should be doing when not singing. Occasional less certain moments.
Thomas Monaghan - Intro was good, but as the song developed it did not really demonstrate range and could have had a wider expression / sense of communication. Have you thought about the song writing competition?
Natalie Newman - Liked the image, control, stage presence and individual colour. Very polished Natalie. You might need a more commercial edge, but numerous secure aspects. (Ending too long).
Kyle Rawson - Not sure about stylistic direction as a package with song choice and image, but lovely tone, communication of mood and attempt to personalize the track. Use of stage quite convincing. Well done. Watch plosives into mic, click here for microphone techniques.
Lauryn Ellis - Lovely voice, lovely singer, not too much work required here vocally and effective image for the style. Next step is stagecraft and communication with ALL your audience. Try to extend beyond the visual centre line.
Mary Haviland - Good song choice, loved the image and colour contrast with guitar. Not sure the song worked for your potential but I think you may have a commercial viability. You need to explore a range of styles and find a direction. Try also to avoid the slips towards the end.
Daisey O’Donnell - Great connection, using eye contact to the whole of the audience, clear experience here. Liked the image too and vocal colour. Good luck in the next round.
Arabella White - I really wanted to like this – great image, and movement on stage was quite convincing. Not sure the song worked for you though, click here for good audition songs. Less exact moments vocally too.
Sleeping Secrets - Fastest introduction for a while! It’s great to talk to the audience and participation (when it works) is even better. Great ideas and confidence. Bags of personality. Like the track too. Slow down and relax fellas - you have the makings of something…
Lauren Anderton - Watch breathing – tone affected in isolated places, but good performance which scored well. Still room for more audience connection, click here for engaging the audience. Felt the song was slightly pushing your comfort level today.
Toby Burton - Solid delivery, liked the voice. For me, not sure about the song to demonstrate your ability, range and expression and you will need to find a commercial edge, but comfortably through. Well done.
North East England Area Final - Sunday 31st May Huddersfield Town Hall, Ramsden Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2TA.
