Sophie Mae - Great opener! Always difficult to open a show, but you were controlled, vocally secure (minor blemishes), and held pace to the track well. Attention to image and use of stage was mature and controlled. Well done Sophie.
Abi Campbell - Great song choice and lovely tone. You did well to sing through the nerves, and communicated well. Good eye contact. Scored well with the judges.
Kacie - Liked the song choice – upbeat and full of energy! Try to reflect this more in the use of stage and body language. Tone sometimes thinned in higher range but this will come with training and experience. Many positives here – well done.
Demz Hoare - Captured and held the mood, demonstrated a brave range vocally, and delivered with security for the very most part. Nice dynamic shaping too.
Rebecca Blake - Well prepared, great attention to image, lovely voice and confidently presented. Intonation not always exact, but you performed well Rebecca. Like the body language and intensification.
Abbi Watkinson - Technically strong, individual colour, and bags of personality really well communicated. If anything, try to work towards a style and package this with your image. Overall, one to watch!
Reece Lee - Wow! 8 years old – really? Where did this talent and confidence come from….?! Hard to be critical as stage craft and technical development will come with experience, but much there already. Great crowd pleaser - you nailed it Reece!
Molly Taylor - Creditable eye contact and audience connection – well done here. You conveyed the lyrics to a good standard. Legato phrasing well attempted and overall a good delivery Molly.
Paris - Love the outfit! You projected with confidence, held the phrasing timing, sang in close sync and head voice / intervals were smoothly placed and controlled. Stagecraft and technical development will come…Look forward to hearing you again Paris.
Fabienne Clarke - Astonishing maturity, vocal delivery and presence. You owned the stage Fabienne. A great original track too at this age– you have a future in music Fabienne. Best in show!
April Ogden - Well done to build in a click to maintain timing into instrument part, (consider making this device less obvious). You looked great, sounded controlled and supported low range creditably. Scope for more projected contrast, and aim for even more use of stage. Good work though.
Jade Maguire - You suited the style and completely looked the part. Have a think about what to do in the instrumentals, and aim for more projection and contrast but I can see a commercial viability in this genre. Click here for voice projection.
Madison Naylor - Loved the ascending and descending figures, and audience connection was great! Keep working on the technical elements – this will come with ongoing training and experience.
Kendall - Loved the outfit! Lots to like about the delivery and attention to detail. Have a think about a stylistic identity to work alongside image, try to avoid plosives into the mic and less exact vocal moments, but looking forward to seeing you again Kendall.
Bittersweet - Choreographed, polished and very well prepared. Loved the image - suited you and what you are trying to achieve. I can see this act developing into something.
Maddie - Liked the individual shaping of phrasing, and you gave thought to image which was great and worked for you. Vocally not always secure unfortunately and numerous plosives today, but one for the future! Keep at it Maddie.
Nikki Stewart - Pleasant delivery, composed and vocally secure in the main. Might need a little more confidence and stage presence to progress today, but would want to see again with more training and experience.
Mia Olivia - Liked the body language, painting the lyrics and communicating well. Room for more use of stage and vocally you needed to settle, demonstrating some projection and contrast. Head voice a little tentative. A number of good aspects here though.
Jessica Mayfrost - You settled into this delivery which was highly enjoyable and you showed a real vocal security in places. Good individual colour and expression. Job done!
Xav & Shanais - Musical, well considered, liked the duo and guitar package. Not sure the guitar tone was as good as the pair of you though. Do give this some thought – supporting music/equipment needs to be as good as it can be. This said, a very promising act!
Tionne - What an introduction! Smooth, composed, vocally secure for the very most part. Try to use the stage however, and aim to engage more with the audience. More eye contact would give greater connection
Faith - Good tone control in sustained notes Faith. You took control of the song, and gentle body language added to the performance - try to develop this. Aim to avoid throat clearing during a delivery if you can, and middle 8 part just a little less secure but good aspects.
Becky Holmes - Really liked the voice, natural vibrato added colour and interpretation of the song was interesting and individual. Would like to see a wider repertoire – you might wish to explore a range of styles to find the one which suits you best. Good potential here.
Kiera - Great attempt in your chosen style. Low register creditably placed– albeit scope for a little more balance / support here. Try to think about the performance beyond the song – give thought to how to use the stage and connect with all your audience, click here for stage performance tips.
Emeli - Lovely tone, shape and colour! Nice to see someone singing through a smile which is usually a good idea and technically you were strong in placement, pitch and phrasing. Again, give thought to how to use the stage to your advantage, otherwise a promising delivery, click here for stage performance tips.
Kaci Jai - Loved the image, use of projection and choice of song which worked for you. Scope for more stagecraft and eye contact – as you develop you will need to be increasingly convincing in presentation.
Zara Hall - Great song choice! I enjoyed the slight changes you made to the melody. Try not to look at the floor when you are singing and engage with the audience more, click here for engaging the audience.
North East England Area Final - Sunday 31st May Huddersfield Town Hall, Ramsden Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2TA.
