Manchester music competition: National music competition TeenStar came to Studio 25 in Manchester this weekend to watch the promising singers perform on stage in front of industry judges.
The auditions for TeenStar were judged by a panel of industry experts and who have complied feedback for the priority acts that have performed. The line-up of judges for the Manchester music competition were:

Alicia Pollard – Very confident audition. You’ve got a nice vocal control, click here for more advice on vocal techniques for singers. Good range of vocals! Nice tone. Well done.
Ashley Lall – Few nerves in the voice, click here for how to sing with confidence. Slightly pitchy in places, but nothing a good vocal coach wouldn’t be able to help you with, click here for the importance of vocal training.
Lara Harding – Confident audition. Nice twang to your vocal. Good to see a confident singer, but don’t forget to smile whilst you’re performing, click here for stage performance tips for singers.
Aisha Oxeo – Grew in confidence after a nervy start. You’ve got a great vocal tone. Need to work on your breathing technique to take you to the next level, click here for breathing exercises for singing.
Katie Barlow – Very strong vocally, but watch you don’t get into shouting, click here for voice projection for singers. The song choice was a bit too big for you and made it sound strained, click here for good audition songs.
Sam Horton – Great vocal control and technique, click here for vocal techniques for singers. A breath of fresh air singing ‘Danny Boy’. Could easily see you on the West End! Confident performance. A lot of potential!
Harry Hodeson – Don’t rush when doing a rap song. Confident performance, you engaged well with the judges. Some parts sounded talky in areas, click here for how to learn to rap.
Ashley Hamilton – Great delivery for a 10 year old! Confident singer. Your performance developed as you went on, click here for stage performance tips for singers.
Yna – Very soulful voice. Talented! You controlled your voice well especially when climbing pitches, click her for vocal techniques for singers. Good potential here.
Rita Fernanda – Nice depth of tone to your voice. Be careful not to use your head voice all of the time and incorporate your chest voice also, nothing a good vocal coach couldn’t help you with, click here for the importance of vocal training.
Sophie Walsh – Voice has a nice sound. Your voice could benefit from vocal lessons to really help it develop and take it to the next level, click here for the importance of vocal training.
Amy Stoegibbons – Sweet vocals. You seemed very nervous, click here for overcoming performance anxiety as a singer. With some development you could get there, see you next year?
Lara Lamont – Good voice. Mature sound. It was a confident performance. There were some parts of your audition that were a little pitchy, click here for vocal techniques for singers.
Adalaide Adams – Very expressive performance, a little less might improve the performance, click here for stage performance tips for singers. Voice has real potential. You gave a really confident audition.
Jamie Redpath – Wow. Very strong vocals. Great tone. Remind me of Suzi Quattro! To improve develop your performance and connect with your audience, click here for stage performance tips for singers.
Macie Page – Good sound Macie, need to work on holding some of the notes, click here for vocal techniques for singers. Confidence and a nice connection with the audience. Grew more into the performance as it went on.

Camila Disano – Confident, clear vocals. Good tone really grew into the performance as it went on. Nice facial expression and connection with the audience, click here for facial expressions and gestures whilst singing.

Nicole Mitchell – Confident, love range of vocals and a really good delivery. Perfect diction; click here for tips on singing diction. Very mature audition for a 9 year old.
