Kettering Dance Competition: Industry judges have provided feedback for the acts competiting in the TeenStar Kettering dance competition. The industry judges have provided singing and dance feedback on how acts can be successful in developing their performances.

Aerialist Elisha – A beautiful performance, it’s lovely to see something different! Clever use of the hoop with technically very competent movements. Just watch your facial expressions at times, try to perform through your expressions as well as your movement. Great start to the show, well done.
Elite – Good energy and great attitude. Nice routine, however be aware of your spacing and timing at points.
Archie – You have a beautiful voice, and it was great to see you build up the delivery, but you need to believe in yourself more. Don’t be afraid to let go and fully shine, and remember to smile! Click here for tips on building stage confidence as a singer.
Verity Rose – You have a lovely voice, but you just need to relax and let go. More performances will help you deal with nerves, but building your stage confidence will help you be able to perform more. Click here for tips on building stage confidence as a singer.
Rosie – You have amazing confidence for your age and you looked beautiful. Good overall performance, but you need to work on the light and shade of your performance and add more dynamics. Click here for tips on singing dynamics. Don’t forget to smile too!
Rebecca – You have a lovely, sweet voice and your personality shines on stage which is great! Really good delivery and nice image. Fabulous confidence, you made us smile a lot!
Yui Kei Ng – Wonderful performance with great flexibility. Watch your timing at times. We would love to see you in a year or two as you have so much potential.
Eva Finnemore – Wow you looked beautiful! Nice song and well played on the guitar. Keep writing and try and add more build at the end of the song, click here for tips on writing a song. You connected with the audience really well.

Tegan Skye – Great story telling throughout your performance and confidence. You have a really beautiful voice, and it was a great overall performance, well done.
Sugar Rush – Fantastic energy with great tricks! Try and work on your timing a little more, but you all have great facial expression and it was a brilliant performance!
Hannah Thornley – You have a beautiful, pure voice and it was a really heart felt performance which was lovely. Try and think about how you can differentiate yourself from others, to make yourself stand out and be unique.

Born 2 Dance – Loved the outfits and confidence! A very entertaining performance, with nice turns, but try to stretch out those legs in the jumps. Also, ensure that everyone keeps the same energy throughout the performance.
Rhiannon – You have amazing vocal potential, but you need to work on your stage craft more. More performances will help you with this, but click her for tips on stage performance. This will also help you connect with your audience more.

Taylor Elwell – A good performance, but remember to stretch those legs and relax your shoulders. Try and keep the connection with the audience all the way through the performance too.
Bianca-Jade – Sweet voice and good presentation to the audience. You have good emotion to the song but you need to watch your timing in places. Katie – Great performance and very interesting to watch. Good technical ability and intensity. Try and work your legs and feet more.

Pulse – Great energy, however we would like to see sharper movements and staying time together more. Lots of attitude which gave a very entertaining performance.
Jess Watson – You showed a lot of ability in this performance, and had lovely facial expressions throughout. A little more dance moves mixed in with the gymnastics would have improved the performance. Great image and flexibility though.

KSD – Lovely vibrant performance! Great routine and loved the costumes. Overall a brilliant performance, well done girls!
Chantee – A very confident performance! It looked like you really enjoyed performing, so that was great to see. You have a good voice and it was a great song choice for your range, however just try and pitch the higher notes more carefully. Click here for the importance of song choice.
Overload Reloaded – Good energy and routine. You showed a lot of ability throughout the performance, however some performers gave more expression facially than others, so try and give the same throughout the group.
Georgia Everitt – You’re very good at story telling through your performance. Try and use a variety of facial expressions except for just smiling to push that performance even further.

Impact – You guys are very talented dancers with tones of confidence and fantastic energy! Just be careful not to go too far with the attitude in your facial expressions, sometimes it nice to see a smile at times too. A really entertaining performance.
Georgia King - You have a good voice, but we could hear that you were nervous. More performances will help you learn how to deal with the nerves, and working with a good vocal coach will help with your pitching when the nerves do strike. Luigina Colonna – You have a good voice and a great image, but remember to still perform even though the instrumental parts of the songs. Click here for more stage performance tips for singers.
Rebecca Luckham – You are a very confident performer with brilliant stage presence. However, try not to be too aggressive with your facial expressions, it good to show the lighter side of the song too and to smile to show the audience you are enjoying yourself. Take care with pitching your higher register.
Starlight Dance School – You guys have a lot of abilty, but it seemed there was a lot going on and it wasn’t totally in sync throughout. Work on your timing to be even better.
Madeline Thornley - You have a very mature vocal and it was great to see you singing and playing. You showed off a lot of skill which was great. Electro – Good synchronised dance with bundles of energy! Lots of skills shown, but sometimes the facial expressions were a bit distracting, so be careful with that going forward.
Angus Spikings – You chose a very hard song to sing, but did well with it. You have a very powerful voice, but you control it well. Click here for the importance of song choice.
Natasha Barron – You have a nice voice and a lovely smile, but unfortunately you lost your pitch in places. Possibly a musical theatre song may be better fitted for you. Olivia King – Lovely style and great song choice! It was a very confident performance with great vocal control. You have a strong belt voice, but be careful with your pitching in the lower register.

Zak – You have a great voice and your falsetto register is excellent with brilliant control. Work on pitching your chest voice in the higher notes, and open your eyes more when you perform to connect with your audience.
Melissa Livings – Excellent song choice, the music was very emotive and you conveyed the expression and story perfectly to the audience. You have so much potential!
Molly Ames – Good voice and nice vocal tone, however the song choice was not best fitted for you. Something more country would probably suit your voice more. Click here for the importance of song choice.
Darshae – Great image and excellent performance, with a well-controlled vocal. You definitely know how to perform!
Kadey – A very confident vocal performance with amazing vocal control. Just be careful not to over sing the notes as it’s not necessary.
Fierce – Loved the drama within the dance. Excellent energy and characterisation. Work on your synchronisation a little more, but a great way to end the show!
