RIKA – Strong vocals, but look to perform more to the audience as if you are singing it directly to each individual person, click here for tips on engaging the audience. Also look to convey the bright and optimism within the song and not just the pain.
Olivia White – It’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it. Also it felt you were forcing to keep up with what the vocal in the song needed so consider song choice carefully.
Ragan Price – The guitar gave the performance a cool, live feel and your presence on stage was good. Just watch your tuning in places, although it didn’t help with the guitar playing over a backing track which on occasions clashed.
Arion – You had the right idea and you work the stage well. Song at times felt a little crowded and needed something instrumently to stand out from any other music out there, but lyrically it was strong! Take care not to over-cook the performance and go over the top. Click here for advice on performing as a singer.
Scarlett Lee – Super vocal, just don’t force it too much and too often! Great that you made the cover your own. Your image and make up may give mixed messages, so try and think of a distinct unique image for yourself as an artist.
Sami – Loved your playing, it was very solid but of course that does detracts from your singing performance. Also use your eyes to connect with your audience, click here for tips on engaging the audience.
SJ Temi – Good stage presence coming to the front of the stage and connecting to your audience. It’s a big and bold song choice which is difficult to perform anywhere near as good as the performance from the original artist. And although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it.
Arlo Parks – A cool vibe and a cool song choice. Super tone to your vocal, just try and work on your expression; look to vary it and embrace the positive and lighter emotion within the songs message. Click here for advice on performing as a singer.
New Edition – You need to think very carefully when singing acapella, a backing track could have kept your timing in check. Vocally you needed to layer up the harmonies more, click here for tips for singing groups.
Madi Billy – Great that you did a mash up, that was unique. However always make sure you tune up your guitar before performing, as it's so easy to knock it out of tune or the temperature alters the tension. This affected you vocally so it’s essential to be on point.
Angel – Although you did a great job, you need to strongly consider doing such an iconic song as it is difficult to make your own, click here for advice on songs to cover. Think about picking a song choice a little more unique and leftfield, one that you can put your own stamp/mark on it.
Chrissy A – You have a nice tone, but look to work on your diction and clarity of vocal, click here for more on singing diction. Also look to work that stage, click here for advice on performing as a singer.
Tamara Atalia – You’ve almost got something really engaging and different, but it’s not quite on point. Your performance at time looks awkward but almost on purpose? Think you need to change the dynamics at times to be slick and fully address your audience. Click here for tips on vocal ranges.
Alesha McKenzie – Dynamics were well worked on the whole, just save that booming vocal sparingly for maximum impact. The performance as a whole could have flowed a little better and didn’t really get going as you stopped quite a bit.
Cassa Jackson – Super expression! And loved you made the song your own click here for more on performing a creative cover. Also consider standing up to perform so it forces you to consider more animated movement to your performance, so work on that to develop further.
Jordan McCaul – Not sure what your performance told us about you as an artist, you need to be more creative with your song choice, click here for advice on songs to cover. Vocally you need to work on your tuning and your projection, a good vocal coach will be able to assist you on these to be even better. Click here for tips on voice projection for singers.
E-Bros – You have good voices, but you need to harmonise more and layer them up more distinctly, click here for tips for singing groups. You perform well together but look to be more unique as an act.
Roadstead – Try not to over do the introduction, it's so easy for over confidence to be misinterpretated. Guitar playing is strong and vocals are strong but we want something really different from you, as you have the ability to push yourself and the boundaries more, so go for it!
