Cally – Ukulele has its place but on this occasion came across a little too thin and this was also the case with your projection, click here for advice on improving singing diction. You have good tone, improving your diction will help to strengthen it! Try to engage the audience a bit more so they’re fully captured by you; click here for tips on engaging the audience.
The Fabsisters – You’ve both got monster vocals but take care not to swamp the vocals and sound overcrowded, just let it breathe and let each other’s vocals have their space within the performance. Performance wise try and make it more natural and commit more to the emotion in the song, click here for advice on how to sing with emotion.
Arion – Bags of potential just need to take time with the committed moments in the song rather than over cook them and come across a little over the top. Good strong commitment to the performance, just take care to air on the side of genuine emotion rather than being too mechanical. Brilliant performer with buckets of confidence. You’ve got a very powerful voice.
Sophia Alexa – Really liked that you made the song your own and a really good use of dynamics, click here for more on music dynamics. You’ve got a nice style, the song choice is great! Very talented young lady! For the next round practise engaging the audience, click here for tips on engaging the audience.
Kat – Lovely vocal and unique quality to your vocal. Two areas that need development are your facial expression and performance. With some more development your performance will benefit massively, click here for advice on facial expressions and hand gestures whilst singing. Your voice is stronger in upper register, remember to support those low notes!
James Harvey – You’ve got a unique voice! You’re confident and captivating. Super control but as a theatrical number you are playing a character so it’s difficult to be individual. Try to also vary your facial expression as it needs it to convey that emotion of the song. You have good projection but for even more get closer to the mic and that should help, click here for microphone techniques for singers.
Mary Senganda – Good commitment to the song, take care not to not be too shouty, click here for improving singing diction. Song wise it was decent but need to drive that chorus and hooks which the most obvious hook came in very much later than it should. Great passionate performer! Great tone and great guitar control. It can sometimes be difficult to perform with a guitar, but it didn’t seem to faze you.
Jordz Ace – Good vocal and confidence. You gave a really fun performance! You’re just oozing with charisma. Liked the song, just keep focused on your mic control to keep the volumes consistent, click here for microphone techniques for singers. And keep focused on the vocal control, push too hard and your lose control. Nice performance breakdown towards the end, would have committed to do that more.
Hayley Daniels – Very powerful performance. Big song to cover and you have the moves, just give them more swagger and commit fully to them. Need to think about adding your flavour to a cover going forward so click here more for more on how to do music covers. Remember to practice so much that the words become second nature.
Virginia – Good connection to the emotion in the song but would look to work on your projection to give even more impact, click here for more on singing diction. Look to use that stage more and don’t be frightened to commit more to using your hands and body to convey emotion, click here for stage performance tips. It’s a shame about the technical set back but you didn’t let it affect you, a sign of a true professional.
Mister A – Liked the song but it came across dated. Try to look to focus the dynamics to drive through the hooks, click here for more on music dynamics. Lyrically the theme seems to change tack and so make sure the lyrics scan and flow as best as they can. Vocally work with a good vocal coach to strengthen your projection. Your diction could benefit from a little more attention, especially so the crowd can understand what you’re saying, click here for singing diction.
Adam Ashford – Asking for audience participation is always a risky business, click here for more on audience participation. Song wise a little 80’s boy band although the ingredients are although there just need to give it a modern twist. Watch back the footage also and analyse your posture and performance to see what could be improved. Don’t force the vocal otherwise you will lose control and tuning.
Abbie Martin – Lovely tone and perhaps you should have looked to sustain the notes longer and vary the attack and delivery of the lines to change the dynamics of the song. There also is an underlining classical twang to the vocals which you should be aware of. Working with a good vocal coach will be able to help you with timing, click here for the importance of vocal training.
ELI – Your image was very different and made you stand out before you even started, click here for more on music synergy and image. Guitar work was very engaging and a full sound with the string and guitar tapping. Liked you made the cover your own although drifted a little at the end from an overall well worked creative cover. You’ve got great control and definite star quality. Would like to see something different from you!
Eva Northcott – Grew in confidence through the song. Great to see you performing your own song but need to structure the dynamics, chords and lyrics to drive through the hooks, click here for advice on writing a pop chorus. Your image didn’t fit with your performance, click here for tips on music synergy and image.
Georgia – Vocal style was good and your confidence was obvious! You gave an interesting performance. Very talented young lady. Make sure you are all set up before you start, including having your mic exactly where you want it, be aware of everything that affects your performance and take responsibility. Song was too simplistic, look to work the lyrics rather than repeat the same lines.
Seda Martdjan – Vocally very sharp with your notes. Song choice was dated and could have done with having your own twist on it, click here for more on good audition songs and how to do music covers. Very powerful voice. We would love to hear you in the studio (Samurai Sound). Very engaging performance.
WE! ARE- Come across like an act who know their sound and what they stand for. Song has lots of potential and the harmonies were good. Take care to focus on sustaining every note. Make sure you interact more with each other, click here for tips on singing groups. Try to bring more harmonies into the verses. Points for originality, you give such a soulful performance.
Courtney Wilson – Good idea with the guitar backing, gave a nice live feel. Liked your mash up, however don’t have to flip it so often to make it work and flow with ease, click here for creating a music mashup. Good dynamics lead to a climatic finish. Your lower register is really nice but careful not to be pitchy in the top range.
