Check out Regional Final feedback from London Talent Show and the Camden Singing Contest here.

Paige Simone – You have a unique quality to your vocal but it would benefit from better use of dynamics, click here for music dynamics. Really use tone and projection to help this by varying in the different sections of the song. Great accompaniment. Not sure about the mash up, click here for tips on music mashups.

Kitty Oliphant – You have a nice tone but the projection could develop to give you more range and volume. A good vocal coach will be able to assist you to be even better, click here for the importance of vocal training. Well done for picking a great song choice!

Camden Music Competition – Regional Final Feedback

Lucy – You have a lovely tone but work the dynamics more to really drive the delivery of the chorus and the hooks more. Backing track seemed quite thin of instruments click here for the importance of music backing tracks. You look beautiful, but the image doesn’t fit the song.

Shayla Reid – Good song choice different, suited your vocal and delivery style, click here for good audition songs. Love to see you work that stage more as you were very rooted to the spot click here for more on stage performance tips. Very consistent vocal.

Chiara – Liked the commitment to the song but use your eyes with more purpose to engage your audience and connect us to your music. Always important to check your guitar tuning before coming on stage only needs a slight knock or temperature changes to alter the strings. Take care with your mic control as you could have pulled the mic away from your mouth on the big notes rather than causing it to pop as you’ve gone too loud. Please open your eyes!

Naomi – It was just nice but needed more commitment both to the performance and vocally. Really think about some clever song choices, this is too obvious, click here for good audition songs. You have good tone.

Malik Deacon – Great movement and loved the beat of the track a truly impressive start. Watch you mic control as you are miles from the mic and this is losing you projection. Mash up was great, click here for more on music mashups. You have a good energy on stage!

House Medicine – Would have been great to see you guys connect a bit more with each other on stage a smile and a look across there was little expression from both musicians. Click here for more on how to sing with emotion. None of you look like you’re having fun, smile!

Katie Ellis – Good song choice, but go with the flavour it’s a fun song so convey it, you are too rooted to the spot. Also look to develop that mic control and take the mic off the stand to move around, click here for microphone techniques. Consider use of space in your performance.

Camden Music Competition – TeenStar 2015

Pearl Fish – Lovely vibe and the topic of the song is really different folk like. Refreshingly original. Great guitar playing. You’ve got a very special talent.

Michael Hart – Liked the change up in the performance but the focus and intensity did fade in places. Bit of a rough diamond which more performance and commitment to the performance will assist you to be even better. Really work on the mic control. Also consider when to ask for audience participation or not, click here for tips on audience participation. Great rapping and stage presence!

Georgia Scott – Performance was good but be careful with your mic control as your volume is not consistent as you are not keeping the mic close to your mouth at all times click here for more on microphone techniques. Song wise it has a nice melody but perhaps a little too repetitive. Lovely vocal, great style! Well done for performing an original.

Abi Hudson – You have a nice tone but your projection needs to develop as you were a bit thin in places. A good vocal coach will be able to easily develop these. Pleasant performance. Nice to listen to. Reminds me of Nina Nesbitt. Great look.

Megan Earl – You have great control and diction. Great song choice, nice and current. Good use of light and shade. Original interpretation.

Melissa Martinez – Lovely choice of song but needed to come out impressing from the off with the vocal adlib at the start however it was a little weak. Look to develop your mic control as you are losing a little of projection which as a result may lead to you trying to push the vocal and lose control. Click here for tips on improving microphone techniques.
