Bristol Dance Contest: Industry judges have provided feedback for the Pre-Teen category of the TeenStar Bristol dance contest. The industry judges have provided singing and dance feedback on how acts can be successful in developing their performances.

Indie – It was great that you themed your performance and wore props! Have a think about working with a singing teacher to perfect your pitch on stage. Alana – The keys gave your performance a nice live feel. As performers try and reach out and connect with each other - a look, glance or smile will perfect your performance. Emily Tresidder – Nice lively song choice and a well worked routine. Perhaps look to commit even more to the big and varied moves. Great flexibility and balance for an overall entertaining performance. Make sure you're sure on the story of the dance at to deliver that all the way through. You're very ambitious and we love that!
CJ – Lovely tone and a great song choice. Click here for the importance of song choice, it was spot on for your vocal range and showing off the sweeter tone in your vocal. Amelie Jadhav – Loads of potential with the sweetest tone to your vocal! Look to work on developing your projection to be even better, having more comfortability at the top end will give you the power and the control you need. Click here for tips on vocal projection. Lily Van Veen – Lovely interpretation of the music, you really projected the emotion in your performance. Some great moves and super control. Try not to sing along with the lyrics in your performance, this can distract you from your dancing. Lovely expression!
Maggie Callahan – Nice control, but try and extend yourself as you have way more to give. This isn’t the most challenging song to sing and it is a very popular song choice. Lizzy D – Good committed performance, you expressed the song well! Song choice was good and you varied the dynamics well to be on a different level to your peers. Vocally just take care not to push too hard and loose the control. Click here for vocal exercises for singers – these will help manage your vocals.
Seren Jade – You made a super first impression commanding the stage well, however you need to get the balance right, try not over perform. Connect with your audience and convey the emotion in the song. Click here for tips on being able to sing with emotion. Vocally try and find your own voice, it sounds like you are holding back and best to be yourself.
Keira – Great commitment and you have all the moves, you just need to work more on bringing greater control. Make sure you also convey the correct emotion when performing. You need to work on your core, so you can hold your turns more solidly. Try to not to sing along with the song, this can be distracting for your performance. Liked the energy!
