Katie Clifton – Lovely mature and committed performance. You’ve got a sweet tone. Take care not to rush the timing, click here for stage performance tips. And click here for more advice on good audition songs.
Strandvik Junior – Nice performance you have a lovely tone but work on your expression as you look very intense, try and relax and express the emotion in the song as best as you can, click here for more on how to sing with emotion. Remember to make use of that whole stage, click here for stage performance tips. Make sure you look like you’re enjoying yourself!
Theresa Delaney – Excellent performance! You always commit well to the performance and connect emotionally to what you sing. It always remains the vocal control that needs developing, which is something a vocal coach will be able to help you with, click here for the importance of vocal training. You did nail the high note though, good girl!
Fintan – Liked the set up performing standing, then going to the keys- well thought through. A good song choice too, just take care not to over push and lose the control. You have lots of ability but you need to convey the emotion in the songs with more conviction it’s like you go through the motions rather than really committing, click here for more on how to sing with emotion. Playing over the backing track can be clumsy and to improve that get the backing instruments broken down so less going on in the arrangement.
Jazzy B – You’ve got a great power to your voice! A very hard song to impress with, especially as it’s such an iconic song and iconic artist. You did a good job but always going to fall short, click here for more on good audition songs and pick less obvious and forgiving covers.
Kayna – You have a nice tone but you are pushing the vocal and losing control at times. There’s great potential here! Confident delivery. You’ve got good projection, keep it up!
Shalamar Baker – Lovely quality! Good use of dynamics to drive and build the chorus very impressive! Fantastic projection, but take care not to drop into being shouty. Don’t sacrifice control for volume. Translate the emotion in the eyes over into facial expression. Use that stage even more to commit us even more to you and the song.
Bahar – You come off extremely confident. A very popular song choice and it’s important to sing songs you enjoy and connect with, but start to look further afield as been covered by everyone the last 12 months, click here for the good audition songs. Be careful not to imitate the singer you’ve chosen but to make it more your own, click here for more on how to do music covers.
Charlotte Newman – Nice image! You have a lovely tone and picked a good song but the performance was very static, click here for stage performance tips, which hopefully the more you perform will develop this. Click here for more on facial expressions and gestures whilst singing.
Connie Parker – Lovely sensitive performance! Lots of potential but more performance is required as it was quite a nervy performance. You are too static and need to use that stage more. Nice tone to your voice! Click here for stage performance tips.
Izzy Jobson – A very hard song to impress with an iconic song and iconic artist, you did a good job but always going to fall short, click here for the good audition songs and pick less obvious and forgiving covers. Remember to work that stage and remain in control rather than push the vocal. Good power and projection!
Bolt – Good to see you performing but please ensure you don’t over perform otherwise it can become a little false. You had a good emotional connection to the song. More performance will sort out your microphone technique; click here for tips on microphone techniques for singers. Asking the audience to get involved is a difficult thing, click here for requesting audience participation.
Amelie – A very vibrant and animated performance. You have a lovely voice but working the dynamics would really help to structure your delivery. It was full throttle throughout and you needed to let the performance breathe.
Layla Karn – Good performance but don’t forget to enjoy it! Great image. It’s all there but also needs all developing- a good vocal coach will be able to assist in timing and improving your projection to be even better! Click here for the importance of vocal training. More performance will build your confidence to use the stage and polish your raw talent.
Poppy Godwin – Lovely vocal quality! You’re a talented lady. You have bags of ability but would look to develop the key work as it was too basic and demanded so much of your focus you weren’t performing, click here for performing with musical keyboards.
