Rhianna May – Strong emotional performance. A slow start blossomed as the performance went on. You used the dynamics well to really end the song on a high. Just watch your timing to an otherwise enjoyable vocal performance.
Chelsea-May – You can tell you have theatre training; it makes for a more effective performance. You need to feel the character, the emotion and empathy of the situation and although you are singing it nicely you need to express the emotion more, click here for more on how to sing with emotion. Don’t be frightened to commit more and let yourself go.
Charlotte Rose - Good delivery of the song! Nicely sung but it’s a song that has been performed to death in the last year, click here for more on good audition songs. Click here for assistance on how to sing with emotion. Vocal wise try and not force the song and lose the control.
Liam Martin – Nice start making a good impact but moving into the verses the diction wasn’t clear, click here for why singing diction is so important. Mic control was a little sloppy at times but you got there, click here for more in microphone techniques for singers and how that affects projection and consistency on the volume. Would like to hear you recorded and maybe singing your own song!
Nathanael – Outstanding! You’ve got such star quality. Good song, well delivered. Always a risk to ask the audience to participate from the start. Click here for more on audience participation and when to use or not to use. Song has potential like to hear a more prominent hook.
Ryan Taber – With such a sensitive song the key here is to connect with it emotionally, a few areas you could develop to get closer to achieve this; eye contact and engaging the audience, click here for engaging the audience. Mic control and getting closer to the mic to improve your projection. Guitar sound was a little thin sounding. Dynamics it’s almost as much as the timing and toning down the attack as much as anything.
Abby Medhurst – Lovely quality! You have a lovely tone but need to develop your projection it was a little timid for a song that the original artist climbs into the high notes, click here for voice projection. So maybe need to consider song choice also if not going to perform either sufficiently differently or as good as the original artist consider another song choice.
Kate Adams – Great original sounding voice. Good confident performance. You acted the song well but at times it did come across a little over dramatic. Take more from Katie Melua, she’s more sultry! Tone down the vibrato!
Lumia – Superb vocals! Your vocals blend well together. Harmonies and vocals are spot on, try and consider as a duo engaging more with each other, just something subtle like a little look across of acknowledgement, click here for tips on singing groups. Remember to perform from the start. Expression wise you are very dead pan and perhaps adding a little colour to your overall expression even if just at the end, click here for stage performance tips.
Courtney Donnelly – Strong voice! LOVE the start. Great performance and a confident vocal. Need to not be frightened of just letting go with that performance. Vocally you need to not substitute control for volume, click here for advice on vocal techniques for singers.
Kirsty – Beautiful quality! You connected well to the emotion in the song. Consider adding more dynamics to really bring even more life into the performance, click here for more on music dynamics. Impressive track with harmonies!
Mollie Jay – Great style and quality! Slight pitch issues which ultimately let you down. We hear this song an awful lot, so it makes it difficult for you to stand out, click here for advice on how to do music covers.
