Singing contest for teenagers in Manchester, TeenStar has provided music industry feedback for singers at the Manchester TeenStar auditions, which took place at The Palace Hotel. The 2013 auditions for the singing contest for teenagers in Manchester, TeenStar, saw the best teenage singers, songwriters and solo artists from Manchester and its surrounding areas take to the stage in their bids to impress a music industry judging panel and capacity crowd. With a place in the TeenStar 2013 Regional Finals up for grabs, the contestants who took part in the singing contest for teenagers in Manchester had a lot to play for!
Judging the singing contest for teenagers in Manchester were, Liam Wright from Banter Studio, Maunder’s School of Popular Music’s Dawn Zee, Bob Young who is a professional singer who’s sung with the likes of Shirley Bassey, Phillip Whittam from Liverpool Unsigned, music reviewer at student mag BounceSIN Tim McGlashan and Head of A&R at Future Music, Ben Price.

Singing contest for teenagers in Manchester – Pre-Teen category
Chloe Baker – Great confidence, good performance, good eye contact.
Alexandria Pollard – Excellent vocal, just bring a performance to the live shows. Express with your arms.
Jennifer Stevens – Excellent potential, great confidence for one so young!
Heather Barlow – Good potential. Good confidence but learn to perform.
Solved – Great harmonies at times. You girls can be good if it’s polished a little.
Black Hearts – Very clever mash up lyrically. You need to rehearse a lot more though and work on those harmonies.
Nina Fahey – Good original, you just need to engage with your audience a little more. Great potential.
Daniela Croston – Strong voice, tried to do a little too much vocal acrobatics though.
Solved – Good! Looked like you were having fun! Good harmonies in places and good solo singer.
Chloe Forster – Confidence needs working on. Relax.
Alexandria Pollard – Very confident, fantastic voice! Full of possibilities.
Molly Dale – Needs more work on voice.
Abigail Chetham – Good confidence, good eye contact and performance. Practice, practice, practice and focus on creating your own vocal style.
Ella McQuistan – Lovely soul and tone to your voice. Practice on relaxing and performing slightly more.
Taylor Cotton – Great audition for someone so young. Keep working hard and you’ll be amazing when you get older.
Olivia Farley – Good audition! You looked a bit nervous; deep breaths and smile and you’ll be great.
Maddox Herridge – You obviously love singing – when you perform for something like this sing like you think no-one’s listening!
Grace Moore – Nice song choice and confidence.
Liam Finnerty – A bit too young maybe but good potential!
Kelsie Thomas – Good song choice, hit some of the notes very well.
Chloe Brooks – Nerves seemed to disappear as performance went on. Well done.
Amy Colvin – Hit some notes well and good range.
Pretty Swag – Nice geek look! Good duet.

Maddy Moore – Well done for bringing an original song to the table, well performed and expressed.
Becki Darlington – Love the Green Day cover. Good image, good original vocal just work on your guitar.
Josh Willimason – Cool arrangement of a dance tune!
Andy Gamage – This was an imitation, you need to think about being your own artist. Watch the American accent.
Gabbi Ofuya – Lovely tone and you look the part. Just bring more performance.
Danny Martin – The basic ability is there but you need to believe in your performance and express yourself.
Paradox – Different to anything else we’ve seen today. It needs polishing though.
Jess White – Good original act but you need to express yourself more. It’s too introverted.
Vanessa Bebbington – Sweet voice. Maybe a different song would have worked better.
Georgia Clay – Lovely voice, good dynamics.
Sophie Asher – Lovely voice.
Mya Thompson – Nice powerful voice.
Jack Hoyes – Very good! Need to sort out performance a bit but good voice.
Impact – All have good voices and good harmony.
Lydia Lennon – Not bad, not quite ready yet.
Cara Davis – Very good.
Emily Yarwood – Confident performance and passion.
Catrin Hopkins – Very powerful performance. Try to work on eye contact when singing.
Rheana Forrester – Great confidence and presence. Work on vocal range but good performance.
Sophie Longmire – Need to work on strength of voice but that will come with practice.
Lydia O’Dowd – Great performance and quality of voice. Would have been nice to hear something more upbeat!
Sareena Wahab – Well done but work on confidence and strength of voice.
Shakaira – Work on power of voice but may be down to nerves. Keep practicing and don’t be afraid!
Oliver Newall – Very distinctive voice and great performance.
Molly Clifford – Would have been better with a different song but voice good at times.
Danielle Braddock – Good range but work on presence.

Charlotte Hughes – Looks the part, and a decent vocal.
Lady Ice – Brought a great vibe. Great individual act can’t wait to see her again.
Lois Holmes – Well done for bringing accompaniment, it brought another dimension. Good stuff.
Jack Preston – Needs work on pitching and tuning. You should never perform an audition with headphones on though.
Alieh Tassi - Cool original, love the guitar. Good styling.
Michelle Blumears – Great voice and confidence.
Holly and Kyle – Holly has a great voice. Not sure about the duo, perhaps your voices are stronger when you’re solos.
Samantha Etridge – Sweet voice.
Eleanor Maguire – Would benefit from singing lessons to improve range.
Gabrielle – Great voice, want to hear more!
Hannah Gorge – Very nice voice, try not to be too quiet!
Hannah Carney – Very good voice.
U-NEEQ – Good, well rehearsed!
Leah Price – Good audition, interesting voice and keep it up.
Ellie Danson – Great voice and image. Powerful vocal.
Shae – Full of energy! Love your vibe, very confident.
