For acts who don’t make it through automatically from their final the Wildcard is one last opportunity to progress within the competition towards The O2 and make it to the next round! Unsuccessful acts will be thrown the Wildcard in the form of a National Public Vote! There will typically be only one place up for grabs from each region and just 2 weeks for acts to make their mark! This page will show all of the acts' numbers and fans can vote for who they believe should be granted a place in the Area Final Showcase. After the first week, the list will be replaced with a leaderboard of the top placed acts. The voting will be updated twice a week on Facebook and on this page. Voting will end midday on the Wednesday 2 weeks after your Regional Final Showcases. The last update will be made 24 hours before the voting lines close. Thereafter, the top placed act in the National Public Vote will be advised of their place in the Area Final Showcases.
Music Contest National Vote
There are 20,000 visitors each week to this website but acts can also promote the voting themselves to get extra votes; promote via blogs/fanpages and via websites/Facebook/Twitter pages and email fan-bases to get extra votes. In previous years Wildcard winners have gone all the way to the National Grand Final. The Wildcard will give acts the opportunity to progress to the Area Final and fight another day...and ultimately get the chance to perform at the Grand Final within The O2 in July in a bid to be crowned the UK’s best TeenStar of 2013.
