Sheffield singing competition for teenagers, TeenStar has provided music industry feedback for singers at the Sheffield TeenStar auditions, which took place at Sheffield City Hall. The 2013 auditions for the Sheffield singing competition for teenagers, TeenStar, saw the best teenage singers, songwriters and solo artists from Sheffield and its surrounding areas take to the stage in their bids to impress a music industry judging panel and capacity crowd. With a place in the TeenStar 2013 Regional Finals up for grabs, the contestants who took part in the Sheffield singing competition for teenagers had a lot to play for!
Judging the Sheffield singing competition for teenagers were Stuart Slater from Slater Drum School, Ian Griffiths from Resound Media, Dan Worrall from Dan Worrall Recording Studio and Aubrey Robinson from Harmony Music School.

The Lyric – Nerves affected conviction. Much promise though…this may work better to a backing track.
Lucy Whitmore – Great dynamics and considered song choice. Well done. (Some straining in some upper note values)
Morgan Tether – Confidently projected. Nice attention to image. Watch pace…
Sarah Shaw – Composed and nice voice. Some slips today (nerves?) but you warmed into this.
Amy Helling – Well done Amy. Great expression and attention to style of piece. (Watch breathing technique)
Katie –Great pace, control and phrasing. Lovely voice.
Niamh – Resonant, full of presence and great potential….
Elli Jade – Smooth movement, expressive and good tempo control. Better second time around….
Roxy Waite – Good voice and looked comfortable. Be a little careful with song choice / interpretation.
Ebony - Elements of performance here. Not every pitch was exact, but highly promising.
Pallav – Powerful, liked the ornamentation. Very good.
Katie Wotawe – Nice voice, but tentative and would benefit from eye contact…
Eille Baker – Fabulous voice, attention to image. Had presence.
Anya Walters – Good upper range control. Considered song choice. Better second time around.
Hollie Tandy – Lovely dynamic shaping. Lively and gave attention to ‘performance’. Well done.
Jade Carty – Very good. Maturely delivered. Technically strong.
Chloe White – You looked nervous but produced an expressive and stylistic performance. Great sync with the backing. (Some pitch slips)
Rachel Fletcher – Watch pace. Aim for greater sense of performance Rachel.
Katelyn Paddock -What fantastic promise! Continue training and try and get as much experience as you can.
Alluminus – Good blending, preparation and costumes….deserve to go through.
Charlotte Woodhand – Technically secure in the main. Try to engage with the audience when you sing Charlotte.
Katie Philips – Good pulse and pace at this speed. Not quite reedy for the regional final but lots of promise. Stick at it….
Abigail Gillott - Watch breathing, but some stronger aspects.
Jess Bailey – Just a touch apprehensive initially, but fine in the end! Don't forget some eye contact and engagement.
Katie May – Nice piano accompaniment and nice voice. Tiny continuity slips….
Sasha Miller – Try to be more prepared with your choice of material in an audition, but nicely delivered.
Fabienne – Confident and projecting.
Olivia – Smooth and expressive. Liked the voice.
Amisha - Be careful with the piano volume – but nice expression and phrasing…For one so young!
Shiksa – Lost momentum with some chord changes. Much promise though…...
Shaunau – Last but not least. Secure for the most part, but aim for greater conviction.
All successful acts from the 2013 TeenStar auditions will be performing at the TeenStar 2013 Regional Finals at Sheffield City Halls on Sunday 31st March.
