Dylan Trenouth – You set a good standard for the show. Nice, original vocal tone and good control. Like the original song you just need to change the dynamics to drive home the hook of the song to make it memorable.
The Fabsisters – Your harmonies are flawless and it was clearly a well-rehearsed performance. Difficult to match the Regional Final performance but you did it, the pitch was perfect and the harmonies are so tight. It was just a shame it was the same song, it would have been great to have heard a different performance.
Connor McSweeney – Your stage presence is great and your individuality and ability is so impressive! Fantastic song, very well done for producing that too, it was performed with such intensity and power, a great performance well done.
Haych Sane – Lovely tone to your vocal, you however need to perform more as you look a little awkward. The song was catchy but the production was a bit messy and unfortunately you forced the vocal at the end which meant you lost the pitch.
Naomi – There is so much talent here, but unfortunately today was not the best we’ve seen from Naomi. The guitar work was a little untidy and you could have looked to have given much more eye contact with your audience, rather than performing with your eyes closed. The original song was great though, a really enjoyable song. You are a great package; the image is great and we love your vibe.
Thalia Youe – Nice idea to do your own backing vocals on the backing track but why not use backing singers in your performance? Try and be as complete as you can on stage. You captured the emotion of the song well, just try and command the stage more.
Cian – Nice tone but projection was a little weak, it needed to have higher gears and a “wow” moment. You picked a song that was perhaps a bit too big for you; it didn’t highlight all of your strengths. A good vocal coach will be able to help you develop your range and projection to be even better.
Catherine Green – The idea of electric guitar is different but it tends to be less clean than an acoustic guitar and it dominants the vocal with the space. Vocally you needed bigger projection which is maybe why it felt the guitar swamped your vocal. Work on the projection with a good vocal coach who will be able to help develop this.
Holly – Your voice is great, but improving your mic control will make such a big impact to your performance. Such effortless power yet you are miles from the mic. You are pitch perfect, but working with a vocal coach to assist you in learning to sing on stage will help you a lot as you have so much talent. Sometimes your facial expressions seem a bit forced and not genuine, so juts be careful of that.
Sandy Jordan Kar – Good to see you make the song different and more your own, but you probably tried to swing it too much at the compromise of sounding as good. You have a great jazz voice but be careful not to push it beyond its limits, less is more at times and it would have worked better in smaller doses. Start to rewrite songs and perform as if they are your own.
Garry Caprani – Clever creative cover and nice vibe! It’s a shame you didn’t throw some of your own song writing into the mash up. You are clearly a natural performer, well done.
Susanna Papette – A great mash up of both songs, with brilliant vocal control. You have a great range and you showed it off well, however you needed to use that stage to bring the performance alive, it was a very static performance.
Areatha Anderson – You command the stage effortlessly and you looked like you really loved performing up on that stage and that made it a very engaging performance for the audience. More of a connection between the performers would have been good as the guitarist didn’t give much eye contact. Make sure you stay within the 3 minute 30 second limit as you were penalised for going over.
Annie Bloss - A great song choice, your vocal was flawless throughout the whole performance. Beautiful control and you captured the emotion effortlessly. A great performance, well done.
Pia Harmony – A great, inventive and creative original song which you performed effortlessly. Your guitar work and song writing is strong and you ooze individuality, I'm sure we will see more of you in the future.
Florence Pugh – Lot of pressure with a loop pedal in two respects getting it built up quickly and efficiently and playing it in time first take. It’s a difficult thing to achieve but you did it well and the harmonies were nice. However it did take away your ability to engage with your audience and I’m not convinced it’s a better route than trying and perfecting just a good catchy song.
Chessie – Fantastic tone and such a lovely natural vibrato! You have such great vocal control and really liked the way you changed the melody, it made the cover original. Well done for keeping composed and performing well after the shaky start with the technical difficulties.
Annie K – Although your voice is great, it sometimes lacked the power for a song as big as that. Try and commit that extra bit more you are going 80% but really throw yourself into the performance.
We Are – These guys have a lot of talent. A great song that is really catchy and has a good melody, however the guitar work was too cluttered and patchy, it didn’t need as much. Nice individuality though, keep working hard as you can see you work together well.
Sara Mees – Lovely tone, you have definitely found your niche so stick with it. You could have worked the song harder with more dynamics to drive home the chorus to give it more impact, but a good performance nonetheless, well done.
Jackie – The power is there but your diction is not always clear on the verses, it’s a bit mumbled. You need to give focus to the whole song not just the chorus. A good vocal coach will really help develop this as you have a lot of talent and a really good look!
